ViewLux Kitchen Remodeling: The Sacramento Owner’s Guide
If you have ViewLux cabinetry or a ViewLux kitchen system in your Sacramento home and something has failed – a drawer glide, a hinge, a door panel, a lazy Susan, a rollout shelf – we stock and install ViewLux-compatible replacement parts, and a full kitchen remodel involving ViewLux materials typically runs $14,000 – $45,000 installed in the Sacramento market. Most homeowners discover a failing part the same way: a drawer that suddenly grinds, a cabinet door that won’t stay closed, or a soft-close hinge that slams instead of catching. You don’t need to replace the whole kitchen. You need the right part, matched to your model, priced honestly, and installed without drama.
We’re an independent Sacramento remodeling contractor – not affiliated with ViewLux – but we work with ViewLux cabinetry regularly because it’s a brand we see throughout East Sacramento, Land Park, Natomas, Elk Grove, and Folsom. The good news: ViewLux uses consistent hardware specs across most of its cabinet lines, which means the right part is usually available and the fix is faster than you’d think. We also work with parts for KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone, so if your kitchen blends brands, we’re not going to send you hunting elsewhere.
Which ViewLux Models This Applies To

ViewLux cabinetry appears in Sacramento homes under several line names, most commonly through kitchen remodels done in the last 10 to 15 years. The compatibility issue that trips up most owners is this: ViewLux changed its drawer glide spec between older face-frame cabinets and newer frameless (full-access) boxes. The older lines use a side-mount glide with a 1/2-inch clearance; the newer frameless boxes use an undermount glide rated for 100-pound loads. If you grab a generic side-mount glide off a shelf and try to fit it on a newer ViewLux drawer, it won’t seat, and you’ll chew up the drawer bottom.
Here’s how to identify what you have. Open the drawer fully and look at the side. If you see a metal rail screwed to the cabinet side and a plastic wheel on the drawer, that’s the older style. If you see a thin steel rail clipped under the drawer and nothing on the cabinet sides, that’s the undermount spec. For hinges, ViewLux predominantly uses a 35mm cup hinge with a clip-on mounting plate – same bore pattern as Blum-style hardware, which means a quality aftermarket hinge from a recognized manufacturer fits without redrilling. For door and drawer fronts, the dimensions are standard slab widths (12, 15, 18, 24 inches) but the finish matching is not. ViewLux finishes vary subtly between production runs, so we always order a sample panel against your existing doors before cutting anything.

Signs Your ViewLux Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- The soft-close hinge doesn’t catch anymore. The piston inside the hinge cup has lost its hydraulic charge. Common on ViewLux kitchens after 8 to 12 years of daily use – the hinge still works, but the door bangs shut or hangs open an inch. Replacing the hinge is a 10-minute fix with the right part.
- A drawer grinds or catches mid-pull. Usually a broken ball bearing inside the glide, or the glide has come loose from the cabinet box. Pulling harder makes it worse and will oval out the screw holes in the cabinet side, turning a $40 part into a cabinet repair.
- The drawer front has separated from the drawer box. ViewLux uses a two-screw and bracket system on some lines, and those brackets fatigue over time. If the front tilts forward when you pull, the bracket is bent or the screws have stripped the MDF.
- The rollout shelf drops on one side. Sacramento’s dry summer air causes the wood in the shelf cleat to shrink, and the screw loses bite. We see this a lot in Natomas and Roseville homes built after 2005. Fixing it properly means re-securing the cleat with a larger-diameter screw and a touch of wood glue – not just cranking the old screw tighter.
- A corner lazy Susan squeaks, sticks, or lists to one side. The center pole bearing has worn, or a mounting bolt has backed out. In Sacramento, dust and cooking oil from the kitchen accumulate on the bearing race and accelerate wear. If it’s grinding, the bearing is done – but the shelf assembly itself is usually fine.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For a single failing part – one hinge, one drawer glide, one rollout shelf – you’re typically looking at $40 – $180 installed in Sacramento, including the part and our labor. A larger parts-focused refresh, like replacing every hinge and glide in a 20-drawer kitchen, runs $800 – $2,500 depending on how many drawers and doors are involved and whether we’re matching ViewLux OEM hardware or a quality equivalent with the same spec pad. And if the whole kitchen is past the point of parts – worn boxes, delaminating door fronts, failing finish – a full ViewLux kitchen remodel in Sacramento runs $14,000 – $45,000, driven by cabinet line, countertop material, and whether we’re changing the layout or keeping the existing footprint.
Every parts repair we do in Sacramento comes with a written price before we start and a written 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the part fails or the fix doesn’t hold within a year, we come back and make it right at no charge. No service call fee, no second-visit fee. That’s the Kingswell standard we’ve worked under since 2004.
DIY or Call Us?
There are a few things an owner can safely check before calling. First, make sure the cabinet box hasn’t pulled away from the wall – if the whole cabinet shifts when you open the drawer, the problem is the cabinet install, not the part. Second, if a hinge is loose, tighten the two screws at the mounting plate first; Sacramento’s seasonal humidity swings loosen those screws every few years, and a snug screw often solves the slam. What I’d tell you to avoid: don’t try to re-drill hinge cup holes without a jig. The ViewLux doors are MDF core with a laminate skin, and an off-center bit will blow out the face. That’s a $300 door replacement to fix a $12 hinge swap. Cabinet hinges and drawer glides are not high-tension parts like garage springs, but when a drawer front separates and you’re working with sharp edge banding and a lot of lever force, a slip can slice a hand fast. If it feels off, call us.
If you’re not sure which ViewLux part you need, call (279) 300-1177. We’ll ask you for a quick measurement or a photo, and tell you the part number and the installed price before we ever schedule a visit. No guessing, no surprises.
FAQs

ViewLux hinges typically last 8 to 12 years in Sacramento homes before the soft-close piston starts to fail. Kitchens used heavily by a family of four or more tend to see hinge wear on the lower cabinets first, since those doors get opened the most. If one hinge fails, its neighbors are usually close behind – we often replace the lower-door hinges as a set to save you a second visit. Call (279) 300-1177 and we’ll give you an exact price for your hinge count.
Most ViewLux drawer glides can’t be repaired once the ball bearings break or the plastic wheel splits – replacement is the only fix that lasts. We’ll match the correct glide spec (side-mount or undermount) to your cabinet, and the installed price includes removing the old glide and re-mounting the new one so the drawer rides level. Call (279) 300-1177 for a specific number on your cabinet.
A single hinge or drawer glide swap takes 30 to 45 minutes on site. A full kitchen hardware replacement – every hinge, glide, and shelf bracket – takes us a half day to a full day depending on drawer count. We bring the parts with us, so there’s no second trip unless you want us to order an exact ViewLux finish-matched front panel, which adds a week for manufacturing. We’ll tell you the window before we start.
We stock the most common ViewLux-compatible hinges (35mm cup, clip-on), undermount glides, and side-mount glides on our trucks. Finish-matched door and drawer fronts, and less common hardware like corner lazy Susan bearings, we order for you and install the week they arrive. Either way, you get a written price before any work starts. Call (279) 300-1177 and tell us what’s failing – we’ll tell you what we have and what we need to order.
If a ViewLux part is failing in your Sacramento kitchen, don’t live with it. Tell me what you want the room to feel like, and I’ll tell you what it actually takes to get there. Call (279) 300-1177 for a free estimate – we’ll give you a written price before any work starts, and every repair is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise, in writing.
