Blanco Kitchen Remodeling: The Sacramento Owner’s Guide

If you have a Blanco kitchen and a part that’s failed, we can match the replacement, order it, and install it for a typical installed range of $14,000 – $45,000 on a full kitchen remodel, with smaller part-specific fixes priced by the job. Most Sacramento homeowners discover a failed Blanco component the hard way: a sink rim that’s pulled away from the counter, a faucet that drips even when the handle is seated firm, or a cabinet hinge that’s sagged a full eighth inch after a few Central Valley summers. The good news is Blanco’s design language is consistent across its lines, which makes matching parts less of a guessing game than it looks.

We stock the most common Blanco-compatible parts on the truck and can have specialty items here within a few days. Penhallow Remodeling Sacramento is an independent remodeling contractor, not affiliated with Blanco, but we work with their parts daily and know which pieces fail first in Sacramento’s hard-water, dry-heat conditions.

Which Blanco Models This Applies To

Blanco’s kitchen lineup in Sacramento homes tends to fall into three families: the Silgranit composite sinks (Precis, Performa, Diamond, and Super Single models), the stainless steel Ikon and Stellar series, and the Culina and Solon faucet lines. The part you need depends on which family you own, and that’s where homeowners get tripped up. A Precis sink strainer is not the same diameter as a Performa strainer, even though both look identical in a photo. The Precis uses a 3.5-inch drain opening, while the Performa runs a smaller 3-inch opening. If you buy the wrong one, it won’t seat, and you’ll get water pooling at the drain lip.

To identify the right part, check the underside of your sink for a stamped model number. It’s typically a four-digit code, often starting with a 51 or 52 for Silgranit models. On Blanco faucets, the model number is laser-etched inside the spout base or on the supply line tag. We always match by that number, not by eyeballing a photo on a parts site. For OEM versus aftermarket: on Blanco Silgranit sinks, we use OEM strainers and mounting hardware almost every time because the composite tolerances are tight and aftermarket clips tend to bind. On faucet cartridges, we’ve had good results with equivalent ceramic-disc replacements, though the OEM cartridge carries a longer service life. We’ll show you both options and price them straight.

Signs Your Blanco Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing

  • Sink rim lifting at the corners. This is usually a failed mounting clip or a countertop that’s settled slightly. In Sacramento, slab movement from dry soil is common, and even a quarter-inch shift will pop a clip. Left alone, water works under the rim and rots the cabinet deck.
  • Faucet drips or the handle turns loose without changing temperature. That’s a worn cartridge, and Blanco’s ceramic-disc cartridges do wear out, especially with hard Sacramento water. The fix is a cartridge swap, and it’s a clean job when the right part is on hand.
  • Silgranit surface showing chalky white spots. That’s mineral buildup from hard water, not a material failure. It can be cleaned with a non-abrasive composite cleaner. If the spotting has etched into the surface, it’s done and should be addressed before the sink starts holding stains.
  • Drain strainer won’t seal, even after tightening. The rubber gasket has compressed or cracked. On Sacramento’s older homes with slightly out-of-level cabinets, this shows up faster because the strainer gets torqued against the sink bottom every time the cabinet settles.
  • Cabinet doors hanging crooked or rubbing at the corner. Blanco’s cabinetry is less common in Sacramento than the sinks and faucets, but we see it when it’s here. The hinge plates are Euro-style and adjustable only so far; once the wood around the screw points strips, the adjustment is gone and it needs new plates or a new door.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

An open kitchen and dining area after a remodel

For a full Blanco kitchen remodel in Sacramento, expect $14,000 – $45,000 depending on cabinet line, countertop material, and how much of the Blanco suite stays. A smaller job, like a faucet cartridge replacement or sink re-seating, runs in the low hundreds, and we’ll tell you the number before we touch a tool. Parts and labor are separated on the written quote so you see exactly what the part costs and exactly what the install costs.

What drives the range on a full remodel: cabinet layout (a galley kitchen in East Sacramento costs less to build than a peninsula island in Natomas), countertop choice (Cambria quartz runs more than a basic laminate, and Silestone or Caesarstone land in the middle), and whether the plumbing stack needs moving. Sacramento’s older Midtown homes often need a plumbing rough-in adjustment when switching from a drop-in to an undermount Blanco sink, and that’s a line item we call out before the estimate is finalized. Every job includes our written price up front and the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it’s not done right, we make it right, in writing, no charge.

DIY or Call Us?

There are a couple of things you can safely check before calling. Look under the sink for the model stamp. Take a photo of the failed part. If the faucet is dripping, note whether it drips hot, cold, or both. Those three steps save a service visit and get you an accurate quote over the phone. What we’d caution against: don’t try to unseat a Silgranit sink from above if the mounting clips are binding. The composite is tough but brittle under twisting force, and you can crack the rim with a pry bar. Don’t disassemble a Blanco faucet cartridge without the right extraction tool; the retaining ring strips easily, and then a $40 cartridge job becomes a $300 faucet replacement.

If it’s a simple strainer gasket and you’re comfortable with a wrench, go ahead. If it’s anything with the sink mounting, plumbing connections, or a faucet that’s been in service more than five years, call us at (279) 300-1177. We’ll tell you over the phone whether it’s worth a visit.
